Emenike was on verge of move to Lokomotiv or Dinamo Moscow says agent [divider]
Fenerbahçe striker Emmanuel Emenike was close to a move to Lokomotiv Moscow or Dinamo Moscow according to football agent Malik Arutyunov.
“Lokomotiv Moscow and Dinamo Moscow were both interested, we held talks with Emenike’s agent Erdem Konyar in Antalya but could not agree a price,” Arutyunov told Radyospor.
“The Russian currency took a hit recently and the value dropped in contrast to the Dollar and Euro otherwise this deal would have gone ahead.”
Emenike was closely linked with a move back to Russia and to Tottenham during the winter transfer window but he decided to stay in Turkey.
The Nigerian international striker joined Fenerbahçe last summer from Spartak Moscow for €13 million, and scored 12 goals as well as providing 9 assists on his return to the club.
Emenike has three goals and five assists in all competitions for the Yellow Canaries this season.
Fenerbahçe are currently second in the Süper Lig on 42 points after 19 games this season.
The Yellow Canaries take on Gaziantepspor at the Kamil Ocak stadium on Saturday 14 Febuary next.
