Liverpool midfielder Emre Can has the potential to play in any team in world football according to club manager Brendan Rodgers.
“If you give Emre another couple of years, he could play in any team in world football,” Rodgers told the Liverpool Echo.
“That’s how highly I rate him.”
Can joined the Reds on a £9.75 million move from Bayer Leverkusen in the summer.
The 21-year-old arrived as a central midfielder but has settled in well to his new position as a first choice defender in Rodgers side.
Liverpool have not lost a Premier League game this season in which Can has started in defence.
Can started in the Reds 2-0 win over Burnley in the Premier League yesterday.
The 21-year-old put in an impressive defensive display, making two tackles, two interceptions and four clearances.
Can also passed the ball out of defence well, completing 76 passes at an 85 percent accuracy. The rising star was Man of the Match according to Whoscored with a rating of 8.43.
