Emre Can was moved into midfield last night for Liverpool’s clash with Besiktas in the Europa League.

The Germany  U21 international was moved into midfield following injuries to Jordan Henderson, Lucas Leiva and Steven Gerrard.

Can received a rating of of 7.67 from whoscored.com. The former Bayer Leverkusen man made six successful tackles, one interception, one clearance and blocked one shot. Can maintained a passing accuracy of 73.8 %, making 61 passes throughout the game.

The 21-year-old also scored his penalty in the shoot-out after 120 minutes of football.

However, Can did not register any shots on goal and failed to make his presence felt in the attacking third throughout the game.

Brendan Rodgers is expected to move Can back to defence for this weekends clash with Manchester City in the Premier League.

The Germany U21 international has one goal and one assist in 26 appearances for Liverpool in all competitions this season.
