Picture: Emre Can tracks down Liverpool legend in the US

Emre Can has been busy partying with the likes of Mesut Ozil out on the US West Coast but he has found a bit of time to take part in other extracurricular activities as well – such as meeting former Liverpool legends.

Can tracked down former Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard and as any self respective social media savvy player would do he shared the moment on Instagram for us all to see.

The 22-year-old midfielder still refers to Gerrard as the ‘captain’ and that is how he described the Reds legend in his caption.

Gerrard won the 2005 Champions League with Liverpool and is widely regarded as one of the most iconic players in the history of the club.

The Germany international of Turkish origin has revealed in the past he would love to become a world class player like Gerrard in the future.

Can told Sport1: “I want to be my own player but I am currently far from where Gerrard was I want to become a world class player like him.”

The Liverpool midfielder is expected to join his teammates for pre-season during their US summer tour.
