Emre Can has not 'regretted making the move to Liverpool'

Liverpool

Liverpool star Emre Can stated that he has not regretted joining the Reds – not even for a second.

Can struggled to settle in initially and missed a part of the season due to injury but he established himself as a first team regular going into the winter break and for the rest of the league campaign.

“At the beginning, things really did not go so smoothly,” Can told 11Freunde.

“I had problems with my calf, then I got injured during an international match with the under-21s and had to wait longer.

“As a newcomer, it’s normal that there’s a certain period of adaptation, but I have always believed in myself and haven’t regretted making the move to Liverpool for a second.”

The 21-year-old joined from Bayer Leverkusen as a central midfielder but soon found himself as a makeshift defender.

Can adapted well to playing as a centre-back in Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers back three but had a few problems at right-back.

Can made a total of 27 appearances for the Premier League outfit this season and also featured in the FA Cup and Europa League.

The young midfielder-come-defender is currently on international duty with Germany at the U21 European Championships.
