Emre Can in-line for Liverpool start as Henderson struggles for fitness

Emre Can could be in line for a start against Arsenal on Monday following reports stating that Liverpool may not risk Jordan Henderson.

The Liverpool Echo stated today that the Red’s captain remains major fitness doubt for Monday’s encounter with Arsenal.

The Liverpool based daily newspaper claims that Can is first in line to make his first start of the season if Henderson is ruled out.

The former Sunderland man has missed training this week and may need painkillers if he is to play against the Gunners.

The Echo goes onto state that Liverpool’s medical staff will asses Henderson’s injury close to kick-off however, if there is no significant improvement the 25-year-old will not be risked.

Can replaced Henderson in the second half of Liverpool’s 1-0 win over Bournemouth last weekend.

The 21-year-old received a rating of 6.73 from Whoscored. The Germany u21 international made four tackles after coming off the bench. Can also maintained a passing accuracy of 81%.
