Emre Can plays 90 minutes in Liverpool’s draw with Leicester City

Emre Can played the full 90 minutes for the second time in a row against Leicester City today.

Can started in defence instead of his usual midfield role after impressing in Liverpool’s 1-0 win against Burnley and Liverpool’s 4-1 win over Swansea.

The 20-year-old played on the left of a back three along side Mamadou Sakho and kolo Toure.

Can was rated as Liverpool’s best defender at 7.86 by WhoScored.com.

The Germany U20 international put on a solid defensive display, completing five successful tackles and one interception as well as nine clearances.

Liverpool remain in 8th place with 29 points in 20 games.

Can has made 12 appearances for the Reds following his switch from Bayer Leverkusen this summer.
