Liverpool star Emre Can has stated that he wants to repay the fans for the song they crafted him.

The midfielder-come-defender asked the fans to put together a song for him in February.

Can listened to Reds fans chants during an interview with the club and admitted he was honoured.

“Things like that make me feel incredibly proud. It’s difficult to put into words how it feels to have the fans behind you,” Can told the official Liverpool website.

The 21-year-old underlined that he will do his best to give the fans something back on the field in return for the faith shown in him.

“I really appreciate what they’ve done and I want to repay them on the pitch. I’ll give 100 per cent in every game for them,” he added.

“I’d heard a couple of times at Anfield that they’ve sung my name, and that made me really proud.”

The chant is set to the tune of Black Lace’s 1989 party classic ‘I Am the Music Man’.

The Liverpool youngster has one goal and one assist in 33 appearances for the Reds in all competitions this season.
