Emre Can will be a future star says Liverpool legend Dietmar Hamann

The former Liverpool midfielder and Germany international Dietmar Hamann has stated that Emre Can is a star in the making during an interview with Four Four Two.

Can has been playing predominantly in midfield over the current season however, Reds boss Brendan Rodgers has deployed the 21-year-old in defensive roles recently.

“Jordan Henderson is injured right now, but he’s a big player and quickly becoming a world class central midfielder. Emre Can has big, big potential,” Hamann told Four Four Two.

The 21-year-old was used as a right-back in the Germany national team when he made his debut last month.

Can is expected to be used as a central midfielder over the next few weeks following injury to Jordan Henderson but Rodgers did use Can as a defender for most of last season in his back-three and as a right-back.

The Germany international is expected to start for Liverpool in this weekends clash with Aston Villa in the Premier League.
