Football pundit Jamie Carragher revealed that Emre Can will have to be at his best to deal with Fellaini today in the Liverpool – Manchester United game.

“Emre Can will be asked questions now against Fellaini, it is so important Liverpool push their defence up, don’t get pinned in the box with Fellaini,” Carragher said speaking on Sky Sports.

The former Liverpool defender also underlined that the Reds could struggle to deal with Fellaini.

“Emre Can is playing in defender cos he can step out with the ball but he will be asked questions now, it is something that will be asked of him defensively, it is a problem for teams how you deal with Fellaini,” he added.

Can did sign for Liverpool as a central midfielder in the summer but has featured as a key member of Brendan Rodgers back-three this season.

The Reds have kept 11 clean sheets in the Premier League this season and Can has featured in 9 of them.

Liverpool have not actually lost a Premier League game in which Can has started in defence this season.
