Emre Can will become a key member of Liverpool’s squad for years to come according to the Red’s legendary defender Alan Hansen.
Hansen commented on Emre Can’s progress during an interview with the ‘This is Anfield’ website.
“Can looks like he can play right across the back four and in midfield, still only young.” Hansen told This is Anfield.
“It looks like he will become an integral part in the Liverpool side.”
Can joined Liverpool on a £9.75 million move from Bayer Leverkusen in the summer as a central midfielder but has been playing as a defender for much of the season.
The 21-year-old has started the Reds last nine games in defence. Can has one goal and one assist in 29 appearances in all competitions this season for Liverpool.
The Reds are currently fifth in the Premier League just two points off a top four spot.
