Everton have joined the race to sign the highly rated Turkish international midfielder Ozan Tufan.

The Turkish Super Lig broadcaster LigTV have reported that Everton are keeping tabs on the young midfielder with the view of signing him over the summer.

Southampton have also been linked with the Fenerbahce midfielder by the Turkish newspaper AMK.

Tufan became the youngest player to score in Euro 2016 when he found the back of the net in the 2-0 win over the Czech Republic in the final Group D game.

Fenerbahce boss Vitor Pereira went as far as describing Tufan’s display over Euro 2016 as reminding him of Manchester City star Yaya Toure.

“He still has a lot to learn and that is my job but the world will soon have a central midfielder on the level of Yaya Toure on their hands,” he said speaking on Sport Tv.

Tufan started in all three games for Turkey over their Euro 2016 campaign and has a total of two goals and one assists in 27 international matches.
