Everton linked with Portugal international Raul Meireles

Everton are interested in Fenerbahçe midfielder Raul Meireles according to the Takvim newspaper.

Meireles currently earns in the region of €3 million per-season but still has one-year left on his contract.
West Ham have also been linked with the Portuguese international in the last few months.

Meireles was recently selected to play in the All-Star game but had to pull out due to injury as did his fellow Fenerbahçe teammate Dirk Kuyt.

The experienced midfielder did however, travel to England and was involved in the Liverpool FC TV match day coverage of the game.

Meireles has experience playing in the Premier League.

The Portuguese international won PFA Fans’ Player of the Year in 2011 during his time playing at Liverpool and went on to help Chelsea lift the Champions League and win the FA Cup.

The 31-year-old joined Fenerbahçe from Chelsea for €10 million and has won two Turkish Cups as well as the league title.

Meireles featured in Portugal’s unsuccessful World Cup 2014 team but played an important role in Fenerbahce’s championship winning season.
