Ex Chelsea striker scores third goal to take Antalyaspor into joint first place

Antalyaspor striker Samuel Eto’o scored his third goal of the season to wrap up a 3-1 victory over Gençlerbirliği.

The Scorpions were leading 2-1 going into a nervy last minutes until Eto’o converted from inside the penalty area to secure back-to-back wins for his side.

Antalyaspor moved into joint first place alongside Kasımpaşa and Trabzonspor on six points following the victory.

The Cameroon international has hit the ground running at Antalyaspor and scored a brace in the Scorpions 3-2 win against Başakşehir last week.

Eto’o left Serie A outfit to sign a three-year deal with Antalyaspor last month.

The 34-year-old has previously played for Sampdoria, Chelsea, Anzhi, Inter and Barcelona. Eto’o joined Sampdoria from Everton last season and scored six times while providing five assists in all competitions last season for the Serie A outfit last season.

Antalyaspor were promoted to top-tier football at the end of last season but embarked on an ambitious transfer policy signing the likes of Eto’o and targeting Ronaldinho as well as Victor Valdes.
