Ex Chelsea wonder-kid set for debut after making West Ham squad ahead of London derby

West Ham take on Chelsea in the London derby for their opening Premier League clash of the season.

Hammers manager Slaven Bilic has been given a boost following the return of summer signing Gokhan Tore from a knee injury that ruled him out of the Europa League clash against Domzale.

The Turkish international has been included in the provisional squad set to face Chelsea.

Tore joined West Ham on a one-year loan deal on a £2.5 million fee and has a £10 million buyout clause option.

The 24-year-old would be making his West Ham debut against a team and stadium he knows all too well. Tore joined Chelsea as a youth from Germany aged 17 and rose through the ranks over the course of a two-year spell that saw the wonder-kid snapped up by HSV Hamburg in 2011.

Former Blues academy chief Frank Arnesen took Tore with him to Hamburg when he made the switch to the Bundesliga club.

After a brief stint at Rubin Kazan, Tore joined Besiktas where he spent two years under the stewardship of current West Ham boss Slaven Bilic.

Tore has now been reunited with Bilic and is on course for a reunion with his former club Chelsea in what should make a memorable friendly – should he feature.

Bilic will also have Dimitri Payet back and summer signings Nordtveit, Ayew, Masuaku and Feghouli are also all in the squad.

Provisional West Ham squad:

Adrian, Randolph, Byram, Masuaku, Collins, Reid, Ogbonna, Oxford, Antonio, Nordtveit, Kouyate, Obiang, Noble, Payet, Feghouli, Tore, Valencia, Carroll, Fletcher, Ayew.
