Ozil was arguably man of the match against Italy and scored his first game of Euro 2016 in the process. So much for not turning up in big games!
Mesut Ozil silences critics as he produces first goal for Germany. Congrats on your man of the match performance.

Interesting stat here. Germany have reached the semi final stage of every major tournament Ozil has starred in.
#GER have never failed to reach the semi-finals in major tournaments at which @MesutOzil1088 has played. More info?https://t.co/XAjy8m6NqJ

Another interesting stat here. Ozil and Alexis Sanchez seem to be the key for their respective national teams success but why have they failed to replicate the same for the Gunners.
Chile had never won Copa America until Sanchez joined Arsenal

Arsenal fans were over the moon following Ozi’s goal.

Most Gooners will however, probably he hoping Ozil is not put on penalty duty next season. The Germany international of Turkish origin has now missed four of his last five penalties in all competitions.
HECTOR WINS IT FOR GERMANY! Worst penalty shootout ever. Ozil should never take pens for Arsenal hahaha
