Germany gave up a two goals lead to lose the international friendly against England 3-2 in Berlin yesterday.
Besiktas star Mario Gomez started for Germany and scored so we decided we would take a look at how fans reacted to his display on the night.
Gomez was unlucky not to have bagged a brace considering his first goal was wrongfully disallowed for being offside.
Offside!? Mario Gomez 'scores' for Germany but given offside – looked like Clyne was playing him on #GERENG 0-0 https://t.co/sojigf0j4k

Gomez did eventually get himself on the scoresheet with a brilliant header rising above the England defenders and directing the ball into the corner giving the keeper no chance.
The Besiktas striker probably thought he had done enough to win the game as Germany took a two-goal lead but alas his side ended up losing.
79' Mario #Gomez is replaced by @MarioGoetze. Let's take a second to think back to his great finish earlier… ? pic.twitter.com/nue9rvdTrP

Gomez has been from zero to hero this season. After a lengthy period out of the Germany national team he is back and for club he is the top scorer in Turkey for league leaders Besiktas.
Credit where due, the resurrection of Mario Gómez continues – sensational for #BJK this season and fully deserves place for Germany #GER

Gomez’s goal was actually his first in four years.
1 – @Mario_Gomez has scored his first goal for @DFB_Team since 13 June 2012 against Netherlands. Ressurection.

Even Ian Wright got in on the act.
Ian Wright saying "Mario Gomez has been doing this all season". Bet he's an avid viewer of the Turkish league
