Liverpool held Tottenham to a goalless draw at White Hard Lane in Jurgen Klopp’s first game in charge of the Reds.
The Reds midfielder-come-defender got to start in his preferred midfield role in his first game under the stewardship of Klopp.
Can featured as a holding midfielder in Klopp’s 4-2-3-1 and put in a decent defensive performance but his passing was poor.
The 21-year-old received a rating of 7.2 from WhoScored making him the sixth highest rated player. Can achieved just a 73.1 percent pass accuracy during the game.
The Reds managed to keep their first clean in nine games in what was a scrappy encounter.
Klopp was appointed as Brendan Rodgers replacement during the two-week international break and tokok take charge of his first league game against Spurs.
We take a look at the Liverpool fans reaction on social media to the Can’s performance against Watford and were in for some intriguing responses.

Emre Can was the pick of the bunch vs Spurs and looks to be the player most energised by Klopp’s appointment. #lfc (James Pearce)

Klopp just yelled, "Yaaaa, come on!" & punched the air in delight when Emre Can made a crunching tackle. Fired up is an understatement. #LFC

Emre Can was superb in midfield yesterday. Already an example of a simple but effective change by Klopp.

Also saw people saying Emre Can looked clumsy? That often happens when a player runs up and down like an absolute tank non stop!

Emre Çan! What a revelation he's been in midfield. He could run from London to Liverpool before the end of the day!
