Fans react to Emre Can's role in Liverpool's defeat to Manchester United

Emre Can was included in the starting line-up for Liverpool’s 1-0 defeat at the hands of their rivals Manchester United in the Premier League.

The Red’s created the majority of the chances during the game but were unable to get past United’s in-form goalkeeper David De Gea. Wayne Rooney scored late in the second half against the run of play to earn his side all three points.

Can was deployed in midfield once again alongside Lucas Leiva and Jordan Henderson. The former Bayer Leverkusen man has been a constant feature in the Red’s starting line-up since the appointment of Jurgen Klopp.

Liverpool dropped down to ninth place following todays defeat while united moved up into fifth place, two points behind Tottenham.

Following the game we took to social media to see how Can’s performance went down with fans. The 22-year-old received a mixed reaction from fans for his display yesterday afternoon.

Emre Can is an enigma. Does some very good things but his awareness is generally poor. Not sure what type of midfielder he wants to be.
