Pereira won the Greek league with Olympiakos by a 12 point margin last season. The 47-year-old manager has also won two Portuguese league titles with Porto.

The Portuguese coach averaged 2.22 points per-match at Olympiakos and 2.27 points per-game at Porto.

Pereira will be unveiled at a signing ceremony later on this afternoon.

The experienced coach landed landed at the Atatürk Istanbul airport yesterday and was greeted by Fenerbahçe sporting director Giuliano Terraneo.

The Istanbul giants were unable to beat bitter rivals Galatasaray to the league title last season but finished as runners up and booked a place in the Champions League play-off stages.

Fenerbahçe will feature in European competition for the first time in two seasons after serving their UEFA suspension.
