Fenerbahçe are favourite to win the Süper Lig according to Germany national team head coach Joachim Low.
“Fenerbahçe are my favourites of course, it would be a great achievement to win the title back to back,” Low told Milliyet.
“Ismail Kartal is doing a great job in my opinion, we have an old friendship, he is a manager that is always developing, always learning, he always had the mentality of a coach.”
Joachim Löw previously managed at Adanaspor briefly in 2001 and at Fenerbahce in 1998.
Kartal and Löw have worked together in the past and remain close friends.
Ismail Kartal was appointed as manager of Fenerbahce at the start of the season following Ersun Yanal’s departure from the club.
Yanal guided Fenerbahçe to the league title last season and is currently manager of Trabzonspor.
The Yellow Canaries travel to Eskişehir to take on EsEs next at the Atatürk stadium.
Fenerbahçe are currently first in the Süper Lig, one point above second placed Beşiktaş and Galatasaray who are third on goal difference.
