Fenerbahce are serious about Arsenal star Mesut Ozil says agent

Fenerbahçe are very serious about signing Arsenal star Mesut Özil according to his agent Dr Erkut Söğüt.

“Fenerbahçe are serious but it all depends on what answer Arsenal give. It will all become clear at the end of the season,” Söğüt told Vatan.

Arsene Wenger stated that Özil is not for sale over the summer transfer window following a reported enquiry from Fenerbahçe and interest from Juventus.

“Look, I never spoke to him on that front or on a football front as well,” Wenger told SkySports.

“But the suggestions are created always by people who – I don’t know, want to create news, but there is nothing concrete in that.

“He’s an important player for our team and he’s a player of course we count on to continue our development and our success.”

Speaking to the Sabah newspaper Özil recently revealed that he would consider a move to Fenerbahçe in the future.

“In the future I want to wear a Fenerbahçe shirt it would be an honour,” Özil said.

The World Cup winner also confirmed that he has always been a Yellow Canaries fan to the Turkish newspaper.

“Everyone knows I am a Fenerbahçe fan,” he said.

Özil joined Arsenal on a £42.5 million record transfer fee from Real Madrid in 2013 and has won two FA Cup trophies as well as the Community Shield for the North London based club.

Özil started in the Gunners 2-1 loss against Dynamo Zagreb in their opening Champions League group stage game yesterday.

The 26-year-old has two assists for the Gunners this season and is expected to start against Premier League champions Chelsea on the weekend.
