Fenerbahce boss not concerned if Man Utd drawn in Europa League Last 16

Fenerbahce knocked Lokomotiv Moscow out of the Europa League yesterday 3-1 on aggregate following the 1-1 draw in Russia yesterday.

Samedov gave Lokomotiv the lead just before half-time but Mehmet Topal equalised on 83 minutes with a tremendous header to put the Yellow Canaries through to the next round.

Fenerbahce boss Vitor Pereira was asked after the game whether he is concerned that his side may draw Manchester United in the next round.

Pereira responded by telling reporters at his post match press conference that he was not concerned who his side draws.

“I am not bothered who we draw. The most important name for us in the next round is not them [Manchester United] it is us,” Pereira said.

“Let the draw take place then we will talk.”

If United and Fenerbahce were to draw each other it would see former Red Devils Luis Nani and Robin van Persie face the club they left over the summer.

Nani and Van Persie have established themselves as first-team players in the Yellow Canaries side and the Dutch star has more goals than all of United’s strikers this season – 9 in the league.
