Turkish giants face competition from Juventus for Man Utd star

Fenerbahce are set to face competition from the Serie A giants Juventus in the race to sign Juan Mata.

Mata’s future at United has been called into question following the appointment of Jose Mourinho. The Portuguese tactician sold Mata from Chelsea to United during his second spell with the Blues.

The Express newspaper has reported that Juventus have set their signs on the £30 million rated playmaker.

The report goes onto state that Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri is ready to rekindle his interest in Mata after failing to sign him last summer.

Fenerbahce signed both Robin van Persie and Luis Nani from the Manchester United over last summer’s transfer window.

The Yellow Canaries finished the league campaign as runners-up and lost the Turkish Cup final against Galatasaray but will compete in the Champions League.

Mata scored 10 times while providing 11 assists for United last season and has another two-years left on his contract.
