Fenerbahce hold talks with Manchester United over star midfielder

Fenerbahce have held talks with Manchester United’s playmaker Juan Mata according to the Turkish TV channel Ahaber.

The report states that the Istanbul Giant’s have held early talks with Manchester United over the possibility of loaning Mata for the season.

Fenerbahce have built up a strong relationship with United after signing both Robin van Persie and Luis Nani from the Red Devils over the summer transfer window.

Mata’s future at United has been called into question following the appointment of Jose Mourinho. The Portuguese tactician sold Mata from Chelsea to United during his second spell with the Blues.

The Spanish newspaper El Confidencial have claimed the Portuguese manager is open to selling Spain Mata over the summer transfer window.

The Yellow Canaries finished the league campaign as runners-up and lost the Turkish Cup final against Galatasaray but will compete in the Champions League.

Mata scored 10 times while providing 11 assists for United last season and has another two-years left on his contract.
