Fenerbahce move step closer to signing Man Utd winger after Nani denies Benfica offer

Manchester United winger Nani has denied receiving an offer from Benfica according to Turkish sports channel NTV Spor.

“Every year it is the same rumours there are stories that I am returning to Benfica this is speculation,” Nani said.

The Portuguese international spent last season on loan at Sporting Lisbon.

Nani had an impressive season scoring 12 goals and providing eight assists in 38 games for the Portuguese giants.

Fenerbahçe sporting director Giuliano Terraneo was reported to have travelled to London ahead of talks over Manchester United winger Nani according to the Hürriyet. Terraneo is expected to meet with Nani’s agent and enter negotiations on Monday.

The 28-year-old still has three-years left on his contract and currently earns €140,000 a week at Manchester United.

Fenerbahçe are managed by a Portuguese coach who recently signed a two-year deal replacing Ismail Kartal.

The Yellow Canaries finished last season as runners up and booked a place in the Champions League playoffs.
