Fenerbahce prepare bid for Schalke defender Kaan Ayhan [divider]
Fenerbahçe are keeping tabs on Schalke defender Kaan Ayhan as they continue their search for a new defender.
The Yellow Canaries are considering a €5 million bid for the 20-year-old defender according to Eurosport Turkey.
Ayhan has played nine Bundesliga and three Champions League games for Schalke this season.
The Turkish international has however, struggled for playing time under recently appointed manager Roberto Di Matteo.
Ayhan last started for Schalke on 25 October against Bayer Leverkusen.
The 20-year-old defender was also recently called up to the senior Turkish national team squad but did not play against Brazil or Kazakhstan.
Ayhan was born in Germany to Turkish parents, the young defender was eligible to represent both Turkey or Germany at international level.
Fenerbahçe are currently joint third in the Süper Lig on 20 points alongside Beşiktaş. The Yellow Canaries will however, move into first place with a win against Eskişehirspor this evening.
