Fenerbahce team bus attacked by 200 rival fans

Fenerbahçe have suffered another attack on the team bus 24 days after the shooting incident that rocked the country.

The team bus was attacked by a group of between 150-200 fans ahead of the Turkish Cup semi-final clash against Bursaspor.

The group of rival fans surrounded the bus and through stones from both sides before the police intervened.

Fenerbahçe team bus driver Ufuk Kıran was shot in the previous incident that took place in Trabzon after the 5-1 win over Rizespor.

The league and Turkish Cup were postponed for a week by the Turkish Football Federation (TFF) following the incident.

The (TFF) announced that the incident was a terrorist attack after a meeting the sports minister on Monday.

“We believe the incident was a terrorist attack, targeting not only Fenerbahce but Turkish sports,” said TFF chairman Yildirim Demiroren.

Two suspects  were detained over the shooting but were have been released on probation according to Rahmi Üstün, mayor of Sürmene district in Trabzon province.

A Trabzon court declared that there was not enough evidence to charge the detainees and ordered for their release.
