The assailants involved in the Fenerbahçe team bus are a disgrace to Trabzon according to Fatih Tekke.

The Trabzon born former Trabzonspor player underlined that there is no place in sport for their behaviour.

“This has nothing to do with sport, it was a disgrace, what they did is very uncharacteristic of people from the region,” Tekke was quoted as saying by Eurosport TR.

“The investigation is still ongoing so we will find out what really happened soon.”

The team bus was shot at with a rifle along the Sürmene-Araklı Highway by a vehicle travelling on the other side of the road heading in the opposite direction.

The driver Ufuk Kıran was shot however, the rest of the team and staff were unharmed.

The driver managed to prevent the bus from swerving out of control and head of security Serdar Kılıç managed to hit the emergency breaks.
