Beşiktaş have setup football academies in Australia which are being run by the club football academies manager Ufuk Pak.

The Black Eagles have been focusing on developing young players and improving their scouting network abroad.

The Eagles have a network of 65 football academies in every region of the country as well as Germany, England, Holland and as far afield as Nigeria.

Beşiktaş defender Ersan Gülüm was born in Australia, while Oğuzhan Özyakup, Gökhan Töre, Olcay Şahan, Veli Kavlak and Kerim Frei were all signed from Western Europe.

The Black Eagles are currently in third place on 35 points but will move into second position with a win against Gençlerbirliği on Monday.
