Former jockey AP McCoy heaps praise on Arsenal star

The former champion jockey and Arsenal fan AP McCoy has heaped praise on Mesut Özil for his performance in the FA Cup final.

The World Cup winner played a staring role in Arsenal’s 4-0 victory over Aston Villa in the FA Cup final at Wembley back in May.

“I Went to the FA Cup final which I had never been to before,” AP Macoy told the BBC.

“I thought we played well, I thought Özil was fantastic.”

Özil received a rating of 7.46 from Who Scored. The Germany international made 46 passes throughout the game and maintained a passing accuracy of 91.3%.

The 26-year-old provided nine assists and five goals in 32 appearances for Arsenal in all competitions last season. Özil has been in good form since the turn of the year winning two Vitality Arsenal Player of the Month and a PFA Fans Player of the Month award.

The North London based side take on their rivals Chelsea on August 2 in the Charity shield.
