The victory takes Fenerbahçe just one point behind league leaders Galatasaray.

The Yellow Canaries remained in third place as Beşiktaş also won this week, beating Sivasspor 1-0 at the 4 Eylül stadium to join Galatasaray on 51 points.

Kuyt joined Fenerbahçe from Liverpool in 2012 for €1 million and has eight goals and four assists in all competitions for the Yellow Canaries this season.

The 34-year-old scored 71 goals in 285 matches for Liverpool and became a fan favourite during his time in England.

Kuyt reached the 2006-07 Champions League final, was runner up in the 2008-09 Premier League title race and won the 2011-12 League Cup with the Reds.

The former Netherlands international has been invited to the Liverpool FC charity game on March 29.
