Former Man Utd star relives penalty that beat Chelsea in Champions League final

Fenerbahce winger Luis Nani has been reliving the moment he won the Champions League with Manchester United back in 2008.

Nani started the final on the bench but came on and scored in the penalty shoot-out win against Premier League rivals Chelsea.

The former United star revealed that he had no nerves taking the penalty and that Cristiano Ronaldo missing his spot-kick spurred him onto make amends for his teammate.

The Portuguese international told the official UEFA website: “I was bleeding from the head, because me and Ashley Cole had crashed into each other, but at that moment all the tension went away because I knew I had to score since Ronaldo had missed his. I took it with confidence, but Petr Čech went the right way and nearly saved it. When I saw the ball go in, it was a very good feeling.”

Nani won four Premier League titles, the Champions League and the World Club Cup during his time at Manchester United.

The Portuguese winger enjoyed a brief stint at Sporting Lisbon on loan before joining Fenerbahce on a three-year deal over the summer.

Nani is in great for for the Istanbul giants scoring 10 goals and providing eight assists in all competitions this season.
