Former Man Utd star Van Persie set to start against childhood rivals Ajax

Fenerbahçe take on Ajax in the Europa League at the Şükrü Saracoğlu stadium going into Match Day 3.

The Yellow Canaries lost their first game of the group stages against Molde and drew 2-2 against Celtic in Glasgow in their second match.

The Istanbul giants could really do with a win at home against Ajax and one player in particular will be more determined than most to make sure that happens.

Former Manchester United striker Robin van Persie rose through the youth ranks at Feyenoord on his path towards becoming a professional.

Feyenoord are of course the rivals of Ajax and Van Persie would probably like nothing better than scoring against his old foes. The experienced striker scored the winning goal in the 1-0 victory over Kayserispor on the weekend and already has five goals to his name this season.

Fellow former United star Luis Nani could however, miss the game due an injury he picked up last weekend. As a result on-loan Liverpool winger Lazar Markovic is set to start.
