Galatasaray confirm €5m West Ham bid for striker

Galatasaray have confirmed receiving a €5 million bid from West Ham for Turkish international striker Burak Yilmaz.

The club released a statement today on their official website revealing that an offer has been made by the Premier League outfit.

The statement read: “West Ham United have made an offer for Burak Yilmaz. The offer was for €5 million.”

Galatasaray did however, confirm that they do not want to sell the prolific striker.

“Burak Yilmaz has not made a transfer request and we want to keep hold of him,” the club revealed.

The Metro reported that West Ham United had reached an agreement over a £6.4 million transfer fee with Yilmaz.

The Turkish international striker has scored 58 goals in his last 87 games at club level and still has another four-years left on his contract.

West Ham boss Yilmaz has revealed that he is a fan of the Turkish international and knows the striker well having coached in Turkey for the past two season.

Bilic parted ways with Besiktas at the end of the season after leading the Black Eagles to the quarter-finals of the Europa League.
