Galatasaray confirm interest in Chelsea target

Oumar Niasse Crystal Palace transfer news

Galatasaray manager Hamza Hamzaoglu confirmed his clubs interest in Omar Niasse today in an interview with reporters at Galatasaray’s training facility in Florya.

Hamzaoglu stated that Niasse wanted to join the Istanbul based club but Galatasaray were unable to agree a deal with Lokomotiv Moscow.

Niasse has also been linked with a move to Chelsea by Eurosport. The report states that Chelsea have sent scouts to monitor the Senegal international and that he has been included in the Blue’s list of targets for January.

The Senegalese international previously worked under current Galatasaray manager Hazma Hamzaoğlu while at Akhisar before his move to Russia.

Niasse is familiar with the Süper Lig, having first made a name for himself in Turkey before moving to Russia from Akhisar at the start of this season for €5 million.

The Lokomotiv striker has 11 goals and seven assists in all competitions for the Russian giants this season.
