Galatasaray have denied reports linking their star goalkeeper Fernando Muslera with a move to Tottenham.

The Istanbul giants released a statement on their official Twitter to deny  they have received a bid for the Uruguay international.

The statement reads, “No offers have been received from Tottenham Hotspur nor have negotiations taken place for our goalkeeper Fernando Muslera.”

Muslera was closely linked with a move to Manchester Untied over the summer transfer window before David de Gea signed a contract extension.

The Uruguay international played a key role in Galatasaray winning the league for a record 20th time last season and earning the right to wear a fourth star – Galatasaray also won the double for a record sixth time.

Muslera has won a total of 77 international caps for Uruguay and was linked with a move to White Hart Lane by the Turkish media earlier this week.

UEFA suspended Galatasaray from European competition for a season for breaching financial fair play rules earlier.
