Galatasaray have move ahead of Bursaspor in the race to sign the Brazilian striker Fernandao from Atletico Paranaense after meeting with his agent Wolfgang Kuhlmann in Istanbul according to the Turkish newspaper Fanatik.

The report states that Galatasaray have offered the 27-year-old striker a contract of €2.5 million per season plus a €25,000 appearance bonus.

However, the Brazilian club are unable to accept a bid from Galatasaray as Bursaspor have a first option clause set at €5 million.

The Green Crocodiles President Recep Bölükbaşı spoke to Bursaspor TV about the strikers future at the club.

“We know other Turkish clubs are interested in Fernandao but he is very happy at Bursaspor,” Bölükbaşı told Bursaspor TV.

“We have held talks with both the player and his parent club. We want to keep hold of our Brazilian striker for next season.”

The 27-year-old striker now has 12 Süper Lig goals this season.
