Hamza Hamzaoğlu signed a three-year contract as manager of Galatasaray last week and confirmed that strengthening the defence is one of his main priorities.
Galatasaray could face competition from Beşiktaş who appoint Şenol Güneş as head coach last week. The Black Eagles manager also underlined that his first priority is to increase his defensive options.
Güneş gave the go ahead for the club to target Tottenham defender Younes Kabul according to Eurosport TR.
Kaboul was also a target for former Beşiktaş manager Slaven Bilic before he resigned at the end of the season.
“We need a right-back but I would like to see Younes Kaboul join as well,” Bilic is quoted as saying by the Akşam newspaper.
The experienced defender fell out of favour with head coach Mauricio Pochettino last season and struggled for playing time only making 15 appearances all season.
Kaboul defender still has another season left on his contract.
