Manchester United have been linked with Wesley Sneijder for as long as most of us can remember but could this finally be the year it goes ahead?

Turkish newspaper Aksam reports that Galatasaray have offered Wesley Sneijder in a part-exchange move for Marouane Fellaini.

Galatasaray have been in the hunt for a physical midfielder ever since selling Felipe Melo to Inter Milan last summer.

The Lions are facing financial problems in meeting FFP regulations are keen to cash in on Sneijder who has a €7.5 million release clause.

The report claims that Galatasaray would take a straight swap for the Dutch international and considering Sneijder won the treble with Jose Mourinho it may just be possible.

Inter Milan and Everton are also in the the race to sign the former Champions League winner according to Fanatik.

The experienced playmaker is however, reported to be happy in Turkey and his family are settled in Istanbul.

Sneijder scored five times and provided 10 assists for the Turkish Cup champions last season. The 32-year-old has cult status among Galatasaray fans having already won two Super Lig and three Turkish Cup titles since joining from Inter.
