Galatasaray open talks with Newcastle striker Papiss Cisse

Galatasaray have issued a mandates to agents to open talks with the Senegalese striker Papiss Cisse according to the Mirror newspaper.

The report state that the 30-year-old will be available to the Galatasaray for the right price.

The Lions have been on the hunt for a new striker since the summer transfer window and have previously been linked with Oumar Niasse and Chelsea’s Loic Remy.

Cisse striker has scored two goals in 10 Premier League games this season. Galatasaray’s current top goal scorer is the former Arsenal man Lukas Podolski with nine goals in 20 games.

The Istanbul based club’s first choice striker Burak Yilmaz has seven goals while his alternative Umut Bulut has only managed two goals in 16 games.

The Toons take on Tottenham this weekend in the Premier League. Galatasaray host Astana in a crucial UEFA Champions League tie on Tuesday and take on rivals Besiktas next Monday.
