Galatasaray have pulled out of talks to sign Bursaspor defender Serdar Aziz according to club vice-president Hamdi Yasaman.

“They want too much for Serdar Aziz, it is not a priority that we sign him we have a deep enough squad already,” Yasaman told Turkish newspaper Bugün.

Galatasaray close in on Bursaspor’s centre back Serdar Aziz

Galatasaray were reported to be willing to part company with Gökhan Zan, Yekta Kurtuluş, Umut Gündoğan, Lucas Ontivero and Aydın Yılmaz in exchange for Bursaspor’s 24-year-old centre back.

Bursaspor rejected the offer and wanted an upfront transfer fee.

Galatasaraay have been trying to bring in an additional defender following injuries to Semih Kaya, Koray Günter and the absence of Aurelian Chedjou who is at the African Cup of Nations with Cameroon.

The 24-year-old scored in Turkey’s Euro 2016 qualifier against Kazakhstan on his international debut last November.

Aziz has made a total of 128 appearances for the Green Crocodiles since rising through the ranks of the youth team to the senior side and still has three-years remaining on his contract.
