Galatasaray are in talks with Bursaspor defender Serdar Aziz according to Sporx.

Galatasaray board member Abdürrahim Albayrak is reported to have met with Bursaspor President Recep Bölükbaşı to negotiate a price for the 24-year-old just days after initial talks stalled.

The latest developments follow Aziz’s agent Haluk Canatar claiming that his client will be staying at Bursa.

“Serdar Aziz has a contract with Bursaspor, he will not be joining Galatasaray during the winter transfer window, there were talks before but a transfer is not going to happen in January,” Canatar told NTV Spor.

The Lions have been trying to bring in an additional defender following injuries to Semih Kaya, Koray Gunter and the absence of Aurelian Chedjou due to international duty with Cameroon at the African Cup of Nations.

Aziz has been a first team regular for Bursaspor this season making 14 appearances in all competitions.

The 24-year-old scored in Turkey’s Euro 2016 qualifier against Kazakhstan on his international debut last November.

The highly rated defender has made a total of 128 appearances for the Green Crocodiles since rising through the ranks of the youth team to the senior side and still has three-years remaining on his contract.
