Galatasaray target HSV midfielder

Galatasaray have been linked with HSV’s midfielder Tolgay Arslan.

The Istanbul giants are preparing to re-structure their squad in the January transfer window.

Galatasaray are aiming to both reduce the wage bill and size of the squad while only bringing players for low transfer fees.

Arslan’s contract with HSV runs out at the end of the season and Galatasaray are hoping the Bundesliga club will be willing to sell him in January for a cut price.

If Galatasaray are unable to agree a fee with the Bundesliga club they will offer the 24-year-old a pre-contract for next season.

In a recent interview with German newspaper Bild, Arslan said that Galatasaray have expressed an interest in him but he is not keen on a move to the Super League.

Arslan who joined HSV in 2009 from Dortmund, has made 12 appearances for the Bundesliga club this season.

The 24-year-old has made three appearances for the Germany U21 side.
