Galatasaray target Mustafa Yumlu
Galatasaray have been linked with a move for Trabzonspor’s out of favour centre back Mustafa Yumlu. The Istanbul Giants are on the hunt for new centre backs following the injuries to Semih Kaya and Koray Gunter sustained during the International Royal Cup in Alanya.
To make matters worse the Lions will be without Aurélien Chedjou who is at the Africa Cup of Nations representing Cameroon. Hakan Balta is Galatasaray’s only remaining senior centre back.
According to the Turkish newspaper Sabah, Galatasaray have offered Trabzonspor a Yekta Kurtulus in exchange for Yumlu in a straight swap deal.
Yumlu was left out of the Trabzonspor squad by Vahid Halilhodžić and hasn’t been recalled by the clubs new manager Ersun Yanal. The powerful centre back is expected to leave the Black Sea Storm before the end of the January transfer window.
The 27-year-old centre back’s contract with Trabzonspor runs out in June 2016.
Yumlu has made four appearances for Tarbzonspor this season.
