Galatasaray are preparing to offer Hakan Balta a contract extension according to the Turkish newspaper Haber turk.
The 32-year-old defender scored the winning goal in the Lion’s 1-0 win over Gaziantepspor last weekend and has been in impressive form since Hamza Hamzaoglu’s appointment.
Balta’s contract with Galatasaray expires at the end of this season.
The Turkish international has scored two goals in 24 appearances in all competitions for Galatasaray this season. Balta joined Galatasaray from Manisaspor in September 2007.
Galatasaray are currently second in the Turkish Super Lig with 61 points in 28 games. The Lions take on Akhisar Belediyespor this weekend. Roberto Carlos’ side have won three of their last four games at home.
