Galatasaray want Man Utd target Ibrahimovic says agent

Galatasaray are still interested in Zlatan Ibrahimovic according to his agent Mino Raiola.

Raiola told Turkish sports newspaper Fotomaç: “Galatasaray want to transfer Ibrahimovic everybody involved in this line of business knows this but there is nothing official as of yet.”

The agent of the Swedish international striker also confirmed that he has been in talks with Galatasaray representatives.

“Some influential club representatives have been in talks over Ibrahimovic, they asked me for details but that is all I can revealed for now,” he added.

Galatasaray president Dursun Özbek however, recently revealed that the Lions are not in talks Ibrahimovic.

“We are still aiming to make new transfers. We are not interested in Zlatan [Ibrahimovic], we have not made an approach for him,” Özbek told LigTV.

“He is too expensive and we are trying to reduce the average age of the squad.”

Dursun’s comments did however, come before Fenerbahçe were eliminated from the Champions League play-off stages.

Galatasaray will receive a higher windfall as a result of the Yellow Canaries exit from the competition.

The Lions are looking to make a marquee signing this summer after their rivals Fenerbahce landed both Luis Nani and Robin van Persie.

Galatasaray could however, face competition from Manchester United. Red Devils boss Louis van Gaal is also keen on signing the 33-year-old according to the Express newspaper.
