Gary Neville: 'Mesut Ozil has never taken responsibility for Arsenal teammates'

Arsenal team news

Arsenal were held to a goalless draw by Liverpool at the Emirates stadium in the final game of the second round of the 2015-16 Premier League season.

Mesut Özil started his third game of the season but came under fire from Sky Sports pundit Gary Neville who stated that the World Cup winners does not take responsibility for his teammates.

“[Özil and Alexis Sanches] Good players, fantastic players but I don’t think Özil has ever taken responsibility for his teammates,” Neville said on Monday Night Football show on Sky Sports.

Özil made the highest number of successful dribbles (3) and joint most key passes (3) for Arsenal on the night but also managed to pull off two tackles as well as an interception according to Whoscored.

The 26-year-old’s passing was impressive as has come to be expected. Özil completed 90 passes with an 84.4 percent success rate.

The Gunners are yet to win at home this season after losing the opening game of the season against London rivals West Ham.

The Reds meanwhile remain undefeated in the league following the draw against Arsenal.
