Gökhan Töre convinced Tolgay Arslan to join Beşiktaş [divider]
Tolgay Arslan revealed that Gökhan Töre convinced him to make the move from HSV Hamburg to Beşiktaş.
Those of you familiar with Töre may be wondering if he made Tolgay an offer ‘too good to refuse’ but rest assured not a single firearm was used this time around.
“I spoke with Gökhan many times on the phone, he convinced me to join, I just want to prove myself and get into the team now,” Arslan told Eurosport TR.
Töre was involved in an altercation with Turkish international teammates Hakan Çalhanoğlu and Ömer Toprak last year.
A friend of Töre pulled a gun on Çalhanoğlu and his Bayer Leverkusen teammate Toprak.
Töre has since apologised for his actions but the trio have yet to play together or even feature in the same Turkish national team squad.
Arslan joined the Black Eagles on a 3.5 year move from HSV.
The Germany born midfielder will be available for the Black Eagles clash with Mersin İdmanyurdu on Sunday.
Arslan had two assists in 15 appearances in all competitions for HSV this season.
