“Antalya is the best place to spend to winter in Turkey,” Güneş told Turkish-football.com reporters at his training camp press-conference.

“The weather conditions are far more suitable to training than other regions of the country, we will be staying here for around 10 days.

“We will be focusing on physical training and improving our conditioning.”

Antalya has on average 300 days of sunshine each year and warmer winters compared to other regions of Turkey.

The Mediterranean coast of Turkey is popular destination for domestic and foreign clubs to hold their winter training camps.

Güneş also believes that his side will aim to finish the league in 3rd or 4th place.

“Our aim for the second half of the season is to build upon what we have already achieved, we are currently in 5th place and with a few tweaks in our game we could realistically finish 4th or 3rd,” he added.

Güneş achieved legendary status when he took the Turkish national team to the semi final’s of the 2002 World Cup.

After a brief spell in South Korea he returned to Turkey to build a strong team at Trabzonspor, winning the Turkish Cup twice, the Super Cup and finishing runners-up in the controversial 2010-11 season.

The 61-year-old coach finished as runner-up on four occasions with the Black Sea Storm.

Güneş resigned from his position as manager of Trabzonspor last year.

Since winning the title in 2010 Bursaspor have failed to finish higher than the third.

Bursaspor are currently in 5th place on 26 points.
